GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
The meeting was called to order at 7:45p.m.
Banquet tickets are for sale. $40.00, need a count for the chef.
Russell Brody with the FWC would like to present a tagging seminar, but has to limit to 25 people max. Don is working with him on this.
Next club meeting is the Jr. Anglers awards. Early meeting – 7PM with dinner at 6:30PM.
Hamburgers, hotdogs and ice cream.
The “Luck of the Draw” tourney will be November 5th. Captains will draw for their crew at the November 3rd club meeting. It will be a short day, fishing at 7AM, ends at 2PM. Fish fry to follow at the club.
Chuck Darner has some pictures from the sinking of the Dry-docks, 1989, if anyone is interested in looking at them.
Will Aiken mentioned a fishing trip out of Hubbard Marine (west coast) October 24 thru the 26th.
3 days, $200.00 per person. 38 persons max. See Will if interested.
Our guest speaker is Keith Kessler from Aquateko, makers of invisible swivels and Knot2Kinky leader wire. He is based here in Jacksonville (Ponte Vedra) and ships worldwide. His products are available at Strike-Zone, C&H Lures and West Marine. They will not rust or corrode, comes in 8 different sizes, from fly fishing to bluewater fishing, 12# to 200#. Matthew Gallup tried everything to break one (swivel) and did not succeed. The swivels are invisible in water, non-corrosive, virtually indestructible and neutrally buoyant.
There are 3 benefits to the wire, stretching (least) stops and pulls back, knotable- can tie in knots, doesn’t kink. Made of nickel titanium, will not rust. Sold in 15 and 30 feet packages.
